Our story
About Gene's Automotive Services
For years, Gene's Automotive Services has been the shop South Gate drivers call when a repair has them stumped elsewhere. We've pulled seized bolts other mechanics couldn't budge, quieted a knocking engine in three days flat, and answered the phone every time a customer needed a straight answer.
We're not fancy — the waiting room is outdoors and we keep things simple — but we know what we're doing, and we back it up with honest, reasonable prices. Ask around and you'll hear the same thing: customers who find us don't go anywhere else.
We're on Imperial Highway, handling general repair and maintenance for South Gate and the surrounding area, Monday through Friday.
- Same shop customers have trusted for 20+ years
- Straight talk and fair prices, every time
- Takes on repairs other shops won't
What customers say
“I went to 3 different shops to replace timing belt and water pump, but no one could remove the crankshaft bolt. One guy stood on a long metal extension while his friend held it in place. Nothing. Another mechanic got his torch out and heated the bolt. Nada. His friend tried beating with a hammer. Nothing. Mario had it out in less than 2 minutes. Wow! He has knowledge and the right tools. The shop is not fancy, the waiting room is outdoors, but this guy knows what he's doing. Plus he's an honest guy and gives you reasonable prices. I've found my new mechanic.”
“Mario is awesome! He answered his phone every time I called and quoted me a totally reasonable price and time and nailed it! I would HIGHLY recommend going to this shop.”
“20+ year customer. Excellent service every time. Trustworthy and honest. Dependable, always available to answer questions and to give advice. Very reasonable prices. Will be a customer for life!”
